We’re looking for a passionate and customer-focused Technical Officer to help us deliver seamless committee meetings, events and services.
What’s the role?
As a Technical Facilities Officer, you’ll be a key member of our Front of House team, providing technical expertise and operational support across the Civic Suite and wider complex. You will be responsible for providing expertise in webcasting, conference management and providing operational support to hybrid equipment across the complex and reporting faults to our IT department. You’ll ensure our facilities are fully prepared and functioning for committee meetings (including Mayor and Cabinet and Full Council) as well as in person and hybrid meetings, conferences, and events.

Key Responsibilities:
- Webcast evening committee meetings onsite and in person at the Civic Suite
- Deliver technical support for webcasting, hybrid meetings, and conference systems
- Set up and maintain meeting rooms, furniture, and AV equipment
- Ensure all facilities are ready and compliant with event requirements
- Provide on-site support during events and troubleshoot technical issues
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth operations
- Liaise with the councils nominated specialists to resolve any complex issues with the webcasting, web conferencing, VTC devices, audio, visual, presentation and communication equipment
- Ensure adequate risk assessments are in place for activities and events – review contents and highlight concerns
- Replenishment of stocks, supplies and equipment
- Work shift patterns on a rota basis Monday-Friday between the hours of 8.30am – 11pm
- Review technical service protocols and update as necessary

The job is primarily based in our Civic Suite, Catford Road, London SE6 4RU

Salary
£41,580 – £42,861 per annum (SO2)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
