We\’re seeking a Regional Team Lead for our Linux Operations team, based in London, to oversee our operations across the European region.
Role Summary
As the Regional Team Lead for Linux Operations, you\’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and regional alignment of our Linux systems across Europe. Your duties will encompass Linux server builds and administration, user access management, and overseeing server lifecycles. You\’ll be instrumental in managing configuration tasks using tools like Chef and Ansible, and you\’ll serve as a key liaison in coordinating with our trading teams to address their server requirements.
In this evolving role, you\’ll also champion the integration of AI-powered solutions into our infrastructure operations, leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agents to enhance automation, predictive maintenance, and intelligent system management. You\’ll work with emerging AI protocols and frameworks to build the next generation of self-managing infrastructure.
A significant part of your role will involve providing leadership and guidance to your team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. You will be responsible for mentoring junior team members, overseeing project timelines, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work in alignment with the unique needs and trends of the European market. Please note that this role will require occasional weekend and evening work.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Linux system engineers across the European region, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Oversee project timelines and ensure the delivery of high-quality work that aligns with the specific needs of the European market.
  • Drive the adoption of AI-powered infrastructure management tools, including LLM-based automation and intelligent monitoring solutions.
  • Design and implement AI agents for autonomous system management, self-healing infrastructure, and predictive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with users, datacenter teams, and our enterprise command center to maintain optimal Linux server performance.
  • Administer Linux servers, including configuring network interfaces, disk volumes, and packages.
  • Manage Linux authentication and entitlements
  • Execute and manage configuration tasks using Chef, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment and updates.
  • Utilize Git for effective version control and source code management.
  • Diagnose and resolve Linux server OS issues.
  • Work closely with trading teams to understand and cater to their server requirements.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and provide round-the-clock support for the company\’s Linux service.

Qualifications And Skills Required

  • At least 10 years of IT Infrastructure experience in the Linux space, preferably within the financial services sector, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in scripting with Bash and/or Python.
  • Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications in infrastructure automation and management.
  • Familiarity with AI agent architectures and autonomous systems concepts.
  • Experience with or strong interest in implementing AI/ML solutions for infrastructure optimization, anomaly detection, or predictive analytics.
  • Solid experience with Configuration Management tools such as Chef and Ansible.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in using Git for version control and source code management.
  • Experience with HP and DELL Enterprise Servers.
  • Broad understanding of IT infrastructure components – Networking, DNS, NTP/PTP, NIS, etc.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure, dynamic environment.
  • RHCSA/RHCE certification or equivalent is desirable.
  • AI/ML certifications or demonstrable experience with LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain, OpenAI API, Anthropic Claude) is a plus.
