An exciting opportunity has arisen within our HRS Accommodation team as an Assistant Accommodation Project Worker. You will work with a small case load of young people, providing support and encouraging young people to gain the skills and knowledge they will need to maintain independent accommodation after resettlement by working through a personalised support plan.

This will include working with the Project workers to complete assessments, key working and teaching life skills. To maintain high standards of supervision and support to create an environment that is homely, welcoming, and safe in which clients can engage and develop.

Skills and Experience In summary, the successful applicant will have the following qualities:

  • Experience of working with young people with complex needs, although not necessarily in a housing context

  • A good understanding of partnership working with external agencies and internal services.

  • A good understanding of Housing Benefit and other benefits preferred.

  • Ability to write reports, keep case notes and client records.

  • Able to work evenings and weekends, including public holidays on a rota basis.

  • Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car.

In accordance with safer recruitment processes many of the roles we recruit for require successful candidates to undertake an appropriate criminal record background check. If an offer of work is accepted, YMCA Trinity Group will facilitate these checks on behalf of our staff and volunteers via the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Days and hours Various hours and shifts available – will include weekends and some evenings.

Salary and Benefits Annual salary £11.44 per hour, additional benefits we offer include.

  • 5 weeks holiday & public holiday allowance, plus a paid day off for your birthday (Pro rata)

  • Competitive rates of pay and company pension (NEST Scheme).

  • Your DBS Check Facilitated / Cost Paid as part of your onboarding

  • Supported induction, ongoing ‘on the job learning’, regular supervisions and internal progression opportunities
