We\’re currently working with a leading Legal 500 firm based in Oxford that\’s seeking an exceptional Corporate Partner . This is a standout opportunity for a senior corporate law specialist looking to take their career to the next level within a firm known for its excellence, innovation, and supportive culture. This role would involve building up a practice, so it would be a fantastic opportunity for those who want to make something their own.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and advise on complex corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity, venture capital, joint ventures, reorganisations, and shareholder arrangements.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients ranging from start-ups and owner-managed businesses to large corporates and institutional investors.
- Supervise and mentor associates and junior lawyers, ensuring high standards of legal work and professional development.
- Drive business development, growing the corporate client base through networking, referrals, and strategic partnerships.
- Manage and grow existing client relationships, identifying opportunities for further support and value-added services.
- Contribute to the strategic leadership of the firm or department, including planning, budgeting, team structure, and growth initiatives.
- Stay current on market trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes affecting corporate law and client sectors.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and professional obligations, including SRA and AML requirements.
- Represent the firm at client events, seminars, and industry conferences, maintaining and enhancing the firm\’s market presence.
The successful candidate:
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with 8 + years PQE in corporate law.
Extensive experience leading on a range of corporate transactions, including M&A, private equity, venture capital, joint ventures, and restructurings.
Strong technical knowledge of company law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
Proven track record of managing complex deals from inception to completion, often with cross-border elements.
Demonstrable leadership skills, with experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and managing deal teams.
Excellent relationship-building skills, with a strong client network and the ability to attract new business.
Commercially astute, with a strategic mindset and the ability to provide pragmatic, solution-focused advice.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts to clients.
