ABOUT THE ROLE
Peloton’s Content Department, comprising our Production, Studio Operations and Instructor teams, works 365 days a year to deliver a broad offering of highly-engaging subscription content to our members. We are a highly collaborative, fast-moving department that focuses on evolving our innovative programming.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Localisation Project Manager to support our localisation efforts, ensuring the highest quality and cultural relevance of our content for international markets. This role will be pivotal in shaping our localisation strategy, optimising AI-first workflows, managing vendor relationships, and critically, evaluating the performance of AI models specifically used for subtitling. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of linguistic expertise, project management skills, and a keen understanding of AI\’s application in the localisation landscape.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
- Oversee the end-to-end localisation lifecycle, liaise with Peloton’s localisation partners, and ensure the timely and right-first-time delivery of high-quality localised content to Members.
- Manage multiple localisation projects concurrently, prioritising tasks and mitigating risks.
- Implement and optimise localisation workflows, leveraging industry best practices and technology.
- Recruit, train and manage high-performing freelance Linguists to support QC efforts.
- Organise the evaluation of translation output from Machine Translation and other AI technologies, and provide feedback to Engineering teams.
- Create, maintain and expand language assets, including glossaries, guides and playbooks, and contribute to the establishment of cross-functional localisation best practices.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, providing expertise and support, and communicating clearly on day-to-day operational activities.
- Monitor the Member Support channels and resolve any captioning or localisation issues.
- Monitor the relevant localisation performance data boards and report on the health status of captioning and localisation operations.
- Liaise with our translation technology partners, suggest new features, resolve issues, and ensure smooth operation of the service.
- Select, onboard, and manage external localisation vendors (LSPs, freelance linguists) to ensure consistent quality and performance.
- Design and implement robust evaluation methodologies for AI-generated subtitles, assessing accuracy, fluency, cultural appropriateness, and readability.
- Work closely with AI/Machine Learning teams to provide detailed linguistic feedback and identify areas for model improvement.
- Analyse performance metrics (e.g., BLEU, TER, COMET, human evaluation scores) to gauge the effectiveness of AI models in subtitling workflows.
- Conduct A/B testing and comparative analyses of different AI models or AI-human hybrid approaches for subtitling.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI for natural language processing and subtitling, recommending new tools and approaches.
- Track and report on key localisation metrics, including quality, cost, and turnaround time.
- Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders for continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
- Expert knowledge of localisation processes.
- Experience as a Localisation Project Manager or Producer.
- Fluent English; native speaker of another major European language.
- Experience with evaluating language AI technologies (MT, AI), or post-editing AI-generated translations.
