We are looking for a Named Lead for Safeguarding Children to join our team!
The Sirona Integrated Safeguarding Team are responsible for ensuring that Sirona is compliant with all aspects of safeguarding expectations set out within the NHS England Accountability and Assurance Framework (2024), Care Quality Commission Fundamental Standards, particularly ‘Safe’, and Integrated Care Board commissioned quality outcomes.
This includes compliance with all appropriate legislation such as Children Act, Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and MCA (DoLS) together with a clear focus upon specific aspects of safeguarding practice such as Domestic Abuse, Prevent (Radicalisation), Modern Day Slavery, FGM and Contextual Safeguarding.
The team is responsible for developing, contributing and overseeing the safeguarding training strategy, policy and procedure development and oversight, supervision and support to staff together with quality assurance activity and proactive engagement with wider systems safeguarding partners.
- Provide operational and organisational leadership for the Safeguarding Children agenda across Sirona care & health to ensure staff are aware of their responsibilities to safeguard.
- Proactively support and facilitate a Think Family approach to safeguarding concerns and workstreams, promoting integration and collaboration across adult and child pathways as appropriate.
- Responsible for the implementation, provision, evaluation and effectiveness of safeguarding training, supervision and advice across operational service.
- Work with internal and external partners, responding to incidents, rapid reviews, child safeguarding practice reviews, and ensure learning is embedded within practice
- Implement quality processes and audits, case file reviews and other reviews to capture good practice, effectiveness of responses and learning and to influence the development of service.
- Be responsible for and manage the North Somerset team of specialist nurses, and support other professionals in complex processes in cases of sudden child deaths, child safeguarding procedures and contributing to case review
