Senior Geomatics Surveyor. The Senior Geomatics Surveyor is responsible for contributing to all client interaction, technical activities within the Geomatics department and leading on Geomatics projects and will report directly to the Geomatics Manager/Technical Director. The Snr Geomatics Surveyor will be committed to the success of the Geomatics Division. The Senior Geomatics Surveyor will specifically be responsible for: Working under applicable regulations and requirements of the industry Leading with technical aspects of conducting geomatics survey operations including, data acquisition, processing and reporting of geomatics survey data. Assisting with technical queries from clients and team members and problem-solve for colleagues working remotely. Assisting with compilation of company survey procedures and development of new techniques. Working as part of a team of technical specialists. Liaising with clients to provide tenders and results in appropriate formats. Supporting the Geomatics manager and technical director to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Contributing to survey strategies regarding projects, tasks, and operations current and future. Supporting the survey manager to ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met. Developing an extensive knowledge of dimensional control and department processes. Reporting any potential technical issues relating to clients, project over-runs, etc. to Technical Director and/ or Managing Director. Assisting with QA for projects within the Geomatics department. Day to day duties may include: Project Administration, Client Liaison & Resource Allocation – staff, equipment, vehicles, HSE etc. Conducting complex fieldwork projects on vessels in ports worldwide. Maintenance of survey equipment including conducting equipment calibrations and verifications. Geomatics and dimensional control data acquisition and assisting colleagues with technical issues during fieldwork. Geomatics and dimensional control data processing, reporting and & assisting with QA of completed projects. • Liaising with clients by telephone, email, reports and in meetings as required. • Attending site meetings as required. Maintaining & keeping up to date project information with ASANA project management software. Communicating with client and survey managers any risks to projects in regard to project milestones and deadlines. Requirements for the role of Senior Geomatics Surveyor will be: • Competence in all Land surveying procedures, • Knowledge of hydrographic sensors used on survey vessels. (MBES, GNSS, USBL, MRU, IMU, INS etc). • Competent user of Land survey instrumentation and software – Total Station, GNSS, Laser Scanner. • Excellent communicator at all levels both internally within all ranks of the team and externally to all stakeholders in geomatics survey work. Additional Duties of the Senior Geomatics Surveyor may include: • Keeping abreast of technical developments within the industry. • Identifying new business opportunities. • Assisting with client management and business development. • Assisting with the development of a strong team of competent and qualified personnel. • Presenting services and capabilities to new and potential clients. • Personnel development and training according to ICES and/ or RICS framework. Informal and formal communication to Directors and staff members including written reports and submission of evidence in scenarios where policies and procedures are not adhered to by other members of staff. Training of new staff both on and off projects
