Position: Project Engineer – Telecoms Rate: £350 Inside IR35 Location: Birmingham Duration: 9 months Start date: ASAP Working Arrangements: Part-time – 2 day a week People Group are looking to recruit a Telecoms Project Engineer to join the Enhancements team. We are looking for someone with a Network Rail background to work for a leading Rail Consultancy Responsibilities: Able to provide expert advice and support associated with the provision of services for our customers and suppliers. Suitably qualified and member of a relevant technical body. Strong problem solving expertise, with the ability to draw on and apply lessons learned from other projects. Has held responsibility for ensuring successful delivery of projects in or to Network Rail. Experience of working in a safety critical, regulated, and multi-organisation operating model within the railway industry. Ability to discharge Network Rail\’s CDM (Construction, Design and Management Regulations) related duties as required by company process. Ability to discharge Designated Project Engineer (DPE) and Project Engineer (PE) roles under NR/L2/RSE/02009. Holds or ability to hold a NR ATW (Authority to work) in the relevant subject/discipline. Ability to review and check the designs comply with legislation, Railway Group and Network Rail company standards. Strong personal qualities demonstrable through their daily actions and engagement with individuals and stakeholder management. Capable of identifying opportunities for technical and business process improvement and innovation, supporting developing business cases and Investment Papers where required. To be successful in this position, we’re looking for some who has: A minimum of HNC in Engineering, although a Degree would be preferable (or equivalent) CSCS Card and SMSTS Have prior experience overseeing sub contractors Worked Client Side as a telecommunication engineer
