Location: Swadlincote, DE11
Day Rate: 95- 105 per day
Contract: Long-term to permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Start Date: September 2025
Are you passionate about supporting primary-aged pupils to achieve their full potential through tailored intervention strategies?
We are working with a warm and welcoming village primary school in the DE11 area to appoint an experienced Intervention Teaching Assistant. This full-time position will involve delivering small group and 1:1 academic interventions across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, focusing on raising attainment in reading, writing, and maths.
You will work closely with class teachers and the SEND team to plan and deliver structured catch-up programmes, monitor pupil progress and help build confidence in learners who need a little extra support. This role is ideal for someone with a nurturing, patient approach and strong subject knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted interventions in literacy and numeracy across KS1 and KS2
Work 1:1 and in small groups to support pupils with gaps in learning
Liaise with class teachers to adapt resources and share progress updates
Track and monitor pupil outcomes to inform next steps
Encourage pupil confidence, independence and resilience
Support behaviour and emotional regulation strategies where needed
Contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment
What We\’re Looking For:
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
Experience delivering primary interventions (Phonics, Catch-Up Maths etc.)
Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt your approach
A positive, calm and flexible attitude
Understanding of how to support pupils with additional needs
