Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Hybrid / Office-based – Greater Manchester Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Permanent (Temp-to-Perm Considered) The Role We\’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team delivering cutting-edge energy infrastructure projects in the oil & gas sector, with a key focus on gas pipework systems, CHP, Tri-generation, and BESS technologies. You\’ll produce detailed mechanical designs and documentation, perform system calculations, and support project delivery from concept through to commissioning. Key Responsibilities Develop PFDs, P&IDs, FDS, schematics, GAs, and equipment schedules Carry out pipe/pump sizing, pressure drop, thermal, and tolerance calculations Design fluid/thermal systems (steam, hot/chilled water, ventilation, etc.) Coordinate with CAD designers to deliver complete design packages Specify mechanical equipment and ensure compliance with IGEM and H&S standards Support project delivery, layout surveys, and technical troubleshooting Requirements Proven experience in mechanical design (oil & gas, energy, or utilities) Strong understanding of gas systems and mechanical calculations Proficient in CAD tools (AutoCAD 3D or similar) and Microsoft Office HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering Full UK driving licence Innotech Partners limited ((phone number removed)) acts as an Employment Agency and is a subsidiary of Talentia Group
