Our client is seeking a motivated and compassionate Employment Coach to join their Restart team, supporting individuals who have been out of work for extended periods. The Restart Scheme, funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), aims to remove barriers to employment and empower participants to achieve sustainable jobs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on helping others, can build trust quickly, and has experience in the employability, welfare-to-work, or skills sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Build strong, consistent relationships with Restart participants to assess their work history, skills, and support needs.
Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments and develop personalised SMART action plans that address individual employment barriers.
Provide ongoing 1:1 and group support for CV writing, interview preparation, job searching, confidence building, and personal development.
Signpost and support access to external training, qualifications, or wraparound services as needed.
Collaborate with local employers, authorities, and training providers to identify employment pathways.
Monitor participant progress regularly and adapt plans to ensure ongoing motivation and readiness for employment.
Record all participant activity, interventions, and progress using the CRM system (Aptem).
Work to achieve performance targets in line with DWP and prime contractor expectations including engagement, outcomes, retention, and compliance.

Experience in the employability, skills, careers, youth work or welfare-to-work sector
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work with a wide range of individuals with varying support needs
Skilled in facilitating both one-to-one and group sessions
Experience in developing personalised action plans and providing structured guidance
High level of attention to detail in record-keeping and reporting
Familiarity with CRM systems or caseload management software
Experience using Aptem CRM
Recognised qualification in Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG), Coaching or Mentoring
Understanding of Safeguarding, GDPR, and Equal Opportunities legislation
