Assistant Project Manager – Rail Stoke-on-Trent 6 to 8-month contract Up to £300 per day (inside IR35) About the Role Our client is currently looking for an immediate starting Assistant Project Manager to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent. You will be working specifically on the AWAC project in the North West. While the position is currently available as a contract role, there is an internal request for a permanent post. However, this permanent role is unlikely to be filled for the next 6-8+ months due to internal processes and interviews. Key Responsibilities * Manage and oversee the AWAC project, ensuring successful delivery within scope, time, and budget. * Chair and facilitate project meetings, ensuring effective communication and decision-making. * Work autonomously and take the initiative to resolve issues and deliver project milestones. * Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure project success. * Utilise IT systems, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to support project administration and reporting. * Training and guidance will be provided to support your success in the role. Essential Requirements * Previous project management experience within the rail industry is highly desirable. * Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to chair meetings confidently. * Ability to work independently and use your initiative to drive projects forward. * A proactive approach and a willingness to learn and adapt.
