Our premium brand Automotive client is currently recruiting for the following role: CAD Author – Catia V5 – £27.21/hr (Inside IR35) – Warwickshire (hybrid potential) – 8 Months (potential for yearly renewal) The Opportunity Our automotive client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CAD Author to join the Virtual Build & Test team within Engineering Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality CAD modifications that support digital validation and virtual build activities across the product lifecycle. You will work within the Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE platform to ensure CAD data meets engineering and CAE requirements. Your CAD expertise will directly influence the development of the next generation of vehicles and help to ensure virtual validation is robust, efficient, and future-ready. Key Performance Indicators – Deliver expected number of parts modifications within agreed timescales. – Deliver part modifications to the required quality standard Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities – Deliver required CAD modifications in line with engineering requirements and direction. – Collaborate with Engineers and Stakeholders to ensure CAD modifications meet CAE requirements. – Lead or support CAE Alignment Reviews to communicate and validate CAD modifications. – Provide modified, compatible CAD to support virtual series and digital validation activities. – Ensure CAD modifications are made in line with appropriate CAD standards and agreed working practices. – Gather customer feedback on the quality and effectiveness of CAD modifications. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential: – Experience working with CAD & PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter & CATIA V5). – Strong understanding of automotive product development processes. – Understanding of CAD standards and modelling best practises. – Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. – Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. Desirable: – Proficiency in Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE (CATIA V6). – Experience in virtual series or digital engineering environments. – Knowledge of client systems and standards.
