Pyrotechnic Supervisor (ASNT Level 3) Oxford – £56,000 + overtime (as desired) An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Pyrotechnic Supervisor to join a long-established British engineering firm that supplies life-saving technology to the aerospace sector worldwide. This role will be based in Oxford and will see the successful candidate overseeing specialist operations within a highly respected manufacturing environment. The Role Reporting to the Operations leadership team, the Pyrotechnic Supervisor will be responsible for output, product quality, process costs, and driving improvements in on-time delivery and lead time reduction. The position covers the Pyrotechnic X-ray, Leak Test, and Part Marking departments. Key duties include: Managing work priorities to ensure timely completion of tasks. Conducting monthly audits and maintaining departmental KPIs. Carrying out annual appraisals and ensuring skills matrices are up to date. Supporting the resolution of production and quality defects. Maintaining and approving radiographic techniques and procedures in line with ASTM standards. Delivering RT training and arranging training for new employees. Monitoring and maintaining x-ray systems and acceptance criteria. About You The successful candidate will bring: Comprehensive product knowledge from a similar environment. Significant manufacturing experience, ideally within aerospace or defence. Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TQM, SPC, MRP, IIP, and Value Stream Mapping. Proven leadership and team management skills. Level 3 ASNT/NAS410/EN4179 qualification. NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Engineering (degree or apprenticeship). A thorough grounding in Health & Safety procedures.
