VANRATH Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom Fleet Manager Our client, a key public sector organisation, is seeking a Fleet & Equipment Manager to oversee the efficient operation of fleet and engineering workshops across multiple locations. This is a strategic role responsible for the management, servicing, and repair of vehicles and operational equipment, ensuring that vital public services are always supported. Key Responsibilities: Manage the lifecycle of fleet vehicles and equipment from acquisition to disposal. Oversee vehicle maintenance, ensuring compliance with legal standards (PSV, MOT, LOLER). Implement preventative and reactive maintenance strategies for maximum fleet availability. Manage staff across regional workshops, ensuring efficient use of resources and high-quality service delivery. Lead stock management processes, ensuring the availability of critical parts and tools. Act as a key contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding fleet and equipment issues. Contribute to contract and financial management, ensuring budgets are adhered to and value for money is achieved. Participate in the Regional Duty Officer Standby Rota, providing 24/7 operational support. Key Requirements: Minimum of 2 years at management level in an engineering workshop or 3 years of relevant trade experience. Strong planning, scheduling, and communication skills. Proficient in using management information systems and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, and manage teams across multiple locations.
