Management Accountant – £35,000 | Exeter

DK Recruitment are partnering with an Exeter based client who are looking for a Management Accountant to join a supportive and growing finance team, providing vital support to the Finance Manager and making a real impact on the way the organisation runs.
In this role, you’ll be central to month-end, management accounts preparation, budgeting, and financial analysis. You’ll also play a key part in process improvement, reporting, and year-end activities – helping the business make informed decisions and plan for the future.
What you’ll be doing:
Leading the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset postings
Preparing monthly management accounts with variance analysis and clear commentary
Coordinating month-end timetables and ensuring deadlines are met
Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles, including preparing and consolidating data
Assisting with year-end accounts and audit preparation
Producing and developing regular financial and sales reports
Managing the fixed asset register and balance sheet reconciliations
Preparing and supporting VAT returns
Resolving queries and communicating financial information across the business What we’re looking for:
AAT Level 4 qualified, or CIMA/ACCA part-qualified with strong management accounts experience
Confident with VAT returns and reconciliations
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across teams
Highly organised with the ability to meet strict deadlines
