About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Water Hygiene Technician to join our Scotland-based team. You will carry out water system monitoring, sampling, tank cleaning, disinfection, TMV servicing, and other water hygiene tasks at client sites across the UK. The role is primarily site-based, with occasional overnight stays and weekend work as required.
Key Responsibilities
Perform water system monitoring in line with ACOP L8, HSG 274, HTM 04-01 and SHTM 04-01 standards
Clean and disinfect Cold Water Storage Tanks (CWST)
Carry out microbiological sampling and ensure samples are processed correctly
Service thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs) and perform routine water hygiene tasks
Complete all work records accurately and on time
Provide professional on-site support to clients
Assist with Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in water hygiene services (temperature monitoring, sampling, TMV servicing)
Knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG 274
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at height
Full UK driving licence
Package & Benefits
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)
Stay Away Allowance: £25 per night, with accommodation and breakfast covered (typically 5-star hotels)
Nights Away: 1-2 nights per month on average
Company van and fuel card provided (private use allowed in line with HMRC guidelines)
Maximum 8 working hours per day
30 days annual leave (including 4 fixed days over Christmas/New Year)
Enrolment in NEST pension scheme
Mobile phone and laptop provided
Attendance at the Livingston office required only once per month for document drop-off/collection, with local stock loading points available
