Teacher of Drama Cranleigh seeks to appoint, for September 2025, a strong honours graduate to teach Drama. This post would suit someone looking to start a career in the subject or someone with experience in the profession. The successful candidate will teach classes from year 9 to year 13 in this ambitious and successful Department and play a full role in the life of this busy and friendly boarding school. Who we are Cranleigh is a leading fully co-educational independent boarding and day Senior School comprising around 700 girls and boys ages 13 – 18. There is also a Preparatory School in close proximity. Cranleigh aspires to be a beacon of excellence in learning and teaching and is committed to the continuing professional development of all employees. We aim to recruit a teacher or trainee teacher who can enthuse and engage pupils across these year groups and has a sound grounding in literature, drama, and their contexts. The department will help and support the new appointee in settling in and establishing how the courses work; previous teaching experience is valuable but not necessary. What we are looking for The ideal candidate will be good-humoured and a good team player. They should expect to get involved in all aspects of this busy boarding school and will be allocated to one of the eight boarding Houses. In this House, they will tutor a group of students and perform one boarding duty per week. All teachers are expected to contribute to the School’s co-curricular programme alongside their academic responsibilities.
