Taylor Woodrow is a leading civil engineering contractor delivering innovative infrastructure projects across the UK. We are currently working on the Fairglen Interchange Project in Essex, a critical highway improvement scheme designed to enhance traffic flow and connectivity in the region.
We are seeking a proactive and passionate Community Engagement Officer to join our team.
This role will be vital in ensuring clear communication between the project team and the local community, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, and addressing any concerns that may arise throughout the project’s lifecycle.
Key Tasks and accountabilities include:
Community Engagement
- Act as key point of contact for the public, local businesses and landowners for any queries
- Work closely with key stakeholder including the local authority and highways agency
- Organise public consultations, meetings, and events to provide project updates and gather feedback
- Act as the main point of contact for community enquiries, ensuring prompt and professional responses
- Work closely with the Site Manager to ensure effective communications with all relevant parties
- Produce clear and engaging communications, including newsletters, social media updates, and press releases
- Collaborate with local authorities, businesses, and interest groups to address concerns and mitigate disruptions
- Monitor and report on community feedback, ensuring continuous improvement in engagement activities
- Support project team members in implementing considerate construction practices
Social Value
- Proactively look for opportunities to support the local communities whilst we are working within the area
- Develop scheme specific Social Value Plans
- Liaise with relevant organisations to fulfil our contract promises
- Support project teams to meet project and company KPI’s
- Organise and participate in events promoting career opportunities within the industry
Person Specification
- Educated to GSCE level or above
- Experience of working within a customer facing role
- Strong communication skills along with good written communication
- Competent IT Skills and computer literacy
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
