EES Solution is seeking a Steering Integration Engineer to join our client\’s cutting-edge engineering team in the mechatronics domain. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of electric steering system integration, supporting the development and delivery of Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) system functionality on modern vehicle platforms.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys both software and hardware interfacing, with involvement across software testing, vehicle-level calibration, supplier coordination, diagnostics, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Lead Engineer in delivering EPAS system functionality according to programme timelines and technical gateways
* Perform vehicle-based testing and hands-on evaluation of steering performance and integration
* Plan and execute steering software calibration delivery with internal and external stakeholders
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Vehicle Dynamics, ADAS, and Systems Diagnostics
* Contribute to test plans and assist with issue identification, triage, and resolution during development and sign-off
* Interface with the supplier to manage development, issues, and updates for steering components
* Participate in debugging and warranty issue resolution related to the steering system
* Coordinate with HiL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and ODX/OTX engineers for structured diagnostic test flow development
* Work closely with network and diagnostic engineers to validate system behaviour and performance
Required Skills & Experience:
* Understanding of mechatronic systems such as EPAS, braking, or active suspension
* Knowledge of steering system components and network communication (CAN, LIN)
* Experience working with vehicle diagnostics and debugging techniques
* Hands-on testing experience and ability to support on-road vehicle testing
* Familiarity with test tools such as Vector, ETAS, or Intrepid
* Experience working in cross-functional environments and with suppliers
* Problem-solving capability and analytical thinking
* Awareness of Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA
Desirable Skills:
* Appreciation or experience in Vehicle Dynamics and NVH
* Background in developing or working with lateral motion systems or ADAS
* Experience with diagnostic flow design using ODX/OTX
* Exposure to HiL systems for control system validation
Education & Qualifications:
* Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechatronics, Automotive, Electrical, Mechanical), or equivalent experience
* Full UK driving licence is essential for vehicle-based development activities
