Location: Darlington, England, United Kingdom. This position involves working on a shift roster covering days, nights and weekends, and maintaining a professional standard of security on a distribution site.

Hours and pay are as follows: ÂŁ12.49 per hour; weekly hours varies. Shift pattern includes days (06:00-18:00) and nights (18:00-06:00).

Responsibilities

  • Access Control — Gatehouse and Reception duties; welcoming, helping and directing visitors, identifying any threat to security and escalating appropriately.
  • Loss Prevention — Performing colleague and contractor searches when required in line with the Client’s Company policy.
  • Internal and external site patrols to deter criminal activity.
  • Collaborate with the Client to identify risk and review CCTV recordings as part of stock loss investigations.
  • Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable.
  • Digitally report incidents and use tablets/phones for daily activity planning.
  • Provide detailed, legible incident reporting to assist the Client and Local Authorities.
  • Adhere to company policy regarding Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities and comply with all policies in the current handbook.

Requirements

  • Confident communicator capable of providing detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity.
  • Welcoming and patient with customers; able to handle conflict professionally.
  • Previous gatehouse duties are an advantage, but training is provided.
  • Valid SIA licence is ESSENTIAL for consideration.
  • Ability to provide a full 5-year checkable work or education history.
  • Right to work documentation and current proof of address may be required at interview.
