This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established law firm as a Legal Secretary, and become part of a dynamic and supportive team. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations. Key Responsibilities: Opening and closing client files. Ensuring all client identification documents are obtained and complying with regulations. Assisting with the preparation of documents and legal paperwork. Drafting legal documents such as letters of instruction to experts. Managing the preparation and submission of Court documents. Liaising with clients, professionals, providers, and other third parties involved, ensuring clear and effective communication. Providing secretarial support to the partners, including managing diaries, arranging appointments, preparing and proof-reading correspondence via digital dictation, and handling client queries. Regularly reviewing client files and bringing attention to any actions or deadlines that need to be addressed, ensuring smooth progression of the case. Providing assistance with the administration of settlements, including liaising with clients to ensure the correct documentation is completed. To provide ad-hoc secretarial cover for sickness and holiday absences within the team as required. Participating in the office rota, including covering Reception during lunch breaks, holidays, and unforeseen absences, and assisting with the collection and delivery of daily incoming and outgoing post.Requirements: Legal Secretary expereince Competent in the use of MS Word and Outlook Familiar with using a practice management system/database such as Partner 4 Windows (P4W) Accurate in all in producing good quality correspondence Proficient audio typist Familiar with transcribing correspondence using Digital Dictation Hours: Full Time: Permanent: 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday – On site.New Appointments Group, Expertly Matching Kent's Employers and Jobseekers since 1975.
