Shore Executive have partnered with ambitious Design and Build company who are seeking to appoint a Creative Director to be part of their leadership team and oversee the design department. This is a newly created position which has been propelled by our client’s growth, and their aspiration to build on their existing success.

As Creative Director this person will guide the design team acting as a mentor to their peers by offering their expertise and advice to enhance existing design capabilities. Furthermore, they will be regarded as the internal subject matter expert for all workplace interior and architectural projects, working closely with the board to create work-winning pitch strategies.

This individual will have natural ability to present ideas and lead pitches using a subtle, yet convincing approach to capturing the hearts and minds of both existing and new clients. They will have inclusive management style empowering their team to reach their full potential and input to the overall vision of the business.

This position would suit a highly creative individual who would relish the opportunity lead client pitches, mentor colleagues, and work closely with a leadership team who are invested and motivated to grow the business.

*** It is likely this person will be required to travel up to 2-3 days per week to facilitate client and internal meetings. This will rarely include overnight stays but may do on occasion. Our client does offer a flexible working arrangement to promote a work life balance, which includes WFH and flexibility on standard hours. ***

The base of this position is flexible which can include London, Midlands and Edinburgh.

Due the nature of the role, this person will ideally closely match the following:

  • Currently working within a respectable Architectural Practice specifically focused on CAT A and B workplace design / Interior refurbishments. Alternatively, they will be working for a Tier One Design and Build company as a Creative Lead ‘second in command’ position where they able to demonstrate they are currently operating at the level of Creative Director without the title.
  • Positioned near the top of their current hierarchy structure leading projects and pitches, rather than merely supporting.
  • Able to develop and present engaging and creative design concepts and documentation.
  • Working directly with landlord clients and occupiers.
  • Understanding of ESG, sustainability and wellness considerations.
  • A Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture or Interior Design.
