Production Manager Handsworth, Birmingham Up to £45,000 per annum basic + performance related bonus Permanent position A successful and evolving Engineering and Manufacturing company in Birmingham, are currently looking for an experienced Production Manager from the Fabrications and metalworking sector to join their management team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Operations Manager, your role will include overseeing the production process, coordinating all manufacturing activities and operations. You will be involved in (pre-production) planning, production control and supervision stages, ensuring all productivity and quality targets are met or surpassed, while ensuring that staff remain positively motivated. An integral part of the role is responsibility for both human and material resources. So your ability to deal with personnel at all levels is paramount to the success of this position. The Production Manager’s duties include (but are not limited to): * Programming works * Stock Control * Organising machine and tool maintenance * Managing the quality checking process * Undertaking non-conformance reporting * Driving efficiencies and continuous improvements in production * Propose innovative solutions to processes and methodologies * Communicate all design changes to production staff and control relevant documentation * Supporting the sales team (front end) * Be a reliable communicator between departments * Scheduling labour required * Close Out and Document submission for ISO and other relevant standards * Value Engineering * CRM processing * Leading by example to inspire, coach and guide the team The ideal candidate for this position will have: * A background in Welding / Fabrication / Sheet Metal industry * Production Management / Supervision / Planning experience * Great communication skills * Well-developed leadership qualities * Forward-thinking problem-solving skills * Methodical approach to thinking * Confidence in dealing and working with clients and internal personnel / stakeholders * The ability to listen to and encourage others * A positive ‘Can do’ attitude to all aspects of the position * Be confident and proactive in identifying risks * Suitable commercial awareness * Willingness to learn and fully comprehend the technical side of all products * React to site issues and implement the relevant recovery plan as required * Excellent reporting skills both up and down-stream If you are an experienced Production Manager from Fabrications background, looking to join a business / group in a challenging and fulfilling position, and would like to discuss the opportunity further, then please apply with your up to date CV today
