Overview Location: HMP Wandsworth (SW18)
Salary: £46,177.30 + 5% shift and weekend allowance + £3,000 per annum in allowances
Contract: Full Time – Perm
We are seeking a dedicated Electrician to join our team at HMP Wandsworth, a category B male prison.
Responsibilities As an Electrician, you will join a Facilities Maintenance Team that works to support the safe and smooth operation of HMP Wandsworth. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues across trades to contribute to a safe and secure environment for prisoners, staff and visitors. You will be part of a team that aims to make a positive difference and support rehabilitation and positive change.
Key activities include working within a multi-disciplinary team of Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners and Administrators to maintain electrical systems and contribute to planned and preventive maintenance where applicable.
Qualifications Two years\’ experience working in a role as an electrician
Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
Good working knowledge of planned preventive maintenance operations
Electrician qualified to C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
18th Edition
Certificate in BS7671
Good Health & Safety knowledge
Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
About the role and organisation We are a Ministry Of Justice business providing critical and time-bound services to HMPPS. We are looking for an Electrician with the above qualifications and experience. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork and a commitment to serving a difficult environment with a positive impact.
