We\’re seeking a talented Assistant Category Manager to join our client\’s dynamic team. In this role, you\’ll provide essential support to Category Managers, handling administrative tasks and key lower-level procurement activities.

Details:
Job Title: Assistant Category Manager
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 DOE
Location: Oxford (2 office-based days a week) relocating to Aylesbury in 2026
Contract type: 12-month FTC, full time
Responsibilities:
Assist Category Managers with obtaining documentation to undertake evaluations and contract negotiations
Work alongside Category Managers to help manage supplier performance effectively
Provide assistance to internal stakeholders, addressing procurement queries and ensuring policy compliance
Support with occasional project workWhat we are looking for:
Demonstrable experience of key procurement activities including supplier selection processes
Awareness of supply risks and supply risk management
Commercial acumen related to purchasing and costing including some knowledge of commercial contracts
Experience of working with multiple internal and external stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication
High levels of self-organisation and good attention to detail
