Assembly Fitter Location: Tonbridge Salary: £26,492.28 to 28,734.36 per annum Shifts: Monday–Thursday: 06:30–15:30 OR 07:30–16:30 Friday: 06:30–11:30 OR 07:30–12:30 Contract: Full-time, Permanent We have an exciting opportunity for an Assembly Fitter to join a specialist manufacturing team working on the build of trucks and automotive-based systems. This role offers hands-on involvement in fitting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems into large vehicle assemblies. Would particularly suit candidates from the following backgrounds: Mechanical Engineer, Vehicle Fitter, Mechanic, Plant Fitter, Automotive Technician and those interested in vehicle maintenance. Key Responsibilities * Assemble fabricated vehicle parts, subassemblies and truck components * Install and test hydraulic, pneumatic, and automotive electrical systems * Carry out wiring looms, cable routing, and pressure testing on vehicle builds * Diagnose faults and ensure vehicles are built to the highest quality standards * Work from engineering notes, BOMs, and technical drawings to complete assemblies * Support the team with knowledge sharing and training About You * Completed a technical apprenticeship or equivalent training * Experience in an automotive, vehicle, or heavy equipment environment * Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems * Strong hands-on assembly skills and good attention to detail * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Physically fit to work in and around vehicles, including confined spaces and chassis work (lifting aids provided) As an Assembly Fitter, you’ll be part of a team delivering high-quality sweeper trucks and specialist automotive equipment.
