Job Specification – Planning Roles (Planners, Planning Engineers & Planning Managers) Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset, UK Employment Type: Permanent Staff Positions Industry: Clean Energy / Nuclear / Infrastructure Overview We are seeking motivated and experienced professionals across multiple levels to join a leading clean energy programme at Hinkley Point C (HPC) – one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in Europe. These roles support the effective planning, scheduling, and delivery of major works on-site, contributing directly to the successful execution of this high-profile nuclear new build. We are hiring across the following levels: Planner Planning Engineer / Senior Planning Engineer Planning ManagerEach role offers long-term development opportunities in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment. Key Responsibilities Planner Support the development and maintenance of project schedules using Primavera P6. Assist in progress monitoring, reporting, and schedule updates. Work closely with engineering and construction teams to input real-time data into planning tools. Help identify schedule risks and contribute to mitigation planning. Ensure accurate recording of progress and updates for reporting purposes.Planning Engineer / Senior Planning Engineer Develop detailed and fully integrated project schedules across engineering, procurement, and construction phases. Lead planning input for specific work packages or project areas. Perform critical path, earned value, and what-if scenario analysis. Provide accurate and timely reports to project controls and project management teams. Interface with contractors and internal teams to gather planning data and ensure alignment with overall programme goals. Ensure schedule compliance with project governance processes and standards.Planning Manager Lead the planning function for a major area or discipline within the HPC project. Manage a team of planners and planning engineers, ensuring effective resource allocation and performance. Oversee the development and maintenance of integrated schedules across the project lifecycle. Act as a key advisor to senior project leadership on schedule strategy, performance, and risk. Drive planning best practice, quality assurance, and continuous improvement within the planning discipline. Represent planning in stakeholder meetings, including client interfaces and contractor reviews.Key Requirements (All Levels) Experience in project planning within major infrastructure, energy, or nuclear projects. Proficiency in Primavera P6 (essential). Strong understanding of project lifecycles, construction methodologies, and earned value principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to work under pressure in a large, collaborative, multi-contractor environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Desirable: Experience on nuclear licensed sites or highly regulated environments. Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
