We’re working with a UK studio, based in the Midlands who are looking for an Animator to create visually stunning and lifelike animations for characters, objects and environments on the studio’s co-dev projects and also their own IP.

In this role, you will become an essential member of the Animation team and will help breathe life into game assets, contributing to the overall immersion and player experience.

We\’re welcoming applications from both experienced Animators and also Junior Animators who are looking to take the next step in their career.

Initially, this is a 12-month fixed term contract with the possibility to be extended or become a permanent position after 12 months. The hiring studio has asked that applicants should be based in the UK and hold the right to work in the UK.

Your responsibilities…

  • Assist in creating 2D or 3D animations for characters, creatures, props, and environmental elements.
  • Follow established animation styles, guidelines, and artistic direction provided by senior team members.
  • Produce and refine high quality key-frame and motion capture animation content, processing them ready for integration.
  • Follow guidelines on content workflows and support in planning content creation.
  • Work closely with Character Artists, Riggers and Technical Artists to ensure animations meet technical requirements and the artistic vision.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…

  • 1 or more years professional experience of working in the games industry in an animation role.
  • A strong portfolio or demo reel, displaying solid key-frame animation skills, and command of fundamental animation techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience with motion builder – this is a must have skill.
  • Experience working with 3D models and rigs (provided by 3d Modelers and Riggers).
  • Able to demonstrate your understanding of weight, timing, and posing through your ability to manipulate motion capture data and key-frame animation.

Bonus points if you have…

  • Experience working on open-world adventure games.
  • Skills in motion capture and facial animation.
  • Collaborated in the execution of mocap shoots while being mindful of technical constraints.
