Position Information Classification Title Student Assistant FLSA Non-Exempt UGA Job Code FTE 0.50 Minimum Qualifications Position Summary Applicants will perform a variety of duties involved in the projects and activities of Dr. Sutton’s citrus research and extension program. This position will consist of a mixture of field and laboratory work. The field component would consistent of sample collection and measurements from multiple field sites across South Georgia. Multiple fruit harvest events would also occur at these sites. The laboratory component will consist of multiple quality measurements across multiple citrus varieties. Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position High school degree needed. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Basic laboratory safety knowledge
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather
Lift up to 50 lbs. consistently
Repeatedly bend, stoop, climb, etc.
Good communication skills
Ability to follow both oral and written instructions Physical Demands Long durations outside under varying weather conditions
