Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Hybrid / Office-based – Greater Manchester Start Date: Immediate Contract Rate: £275-£300 per day Contract Type: Ongoing Contract (Temp to Perm Potential) We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support a key oil & gas infrastructure project, with a strong focus on gas pipework systems. This role offers immediate start and hybrid working, with long-term potential for a permanent position. Key Responsibilities – Mechanical Design and Project Support: Produce accurate and timely mechanical designs and specifications, including PFDs, P&IDs, functional design specs (FDS), schematics, detail drawings, general arrangements, and equipment schedules Coordinate with CAD designers to deliver complete design packages (layouts, piping, GAs) to meet quality and schedule expectations Design thermal and fluid systems, including heat recovery, ventilation, steam, hot/chilled water, and noise attenuation, supported by technical calculations and safety assessments Perform mechanical calculations, including pipe and pump sizing, pressure drop, expansion, and tolerance analysis Select and requisition appropriate materials and equipment for systems such as CHP, Tri-generation, and BESS Ensure all designs comply with IGEM standards and relevant regulations Requirements: Proven experience in mechanical design within oil & gas, utilities, or related sectors Strong understanding of gas pipework systems and mechanical calculations Familiarity with industry standards, including IGEM Proficient in using design and CAD tools Additional Information: Hybrid role with office attendance required (Greater Manchester) Temp to perm opportunity Sponsorship may be considered for the right candidate Teams interviews available immediately – as early as tomorrowInnotech Partners limited ((phone number removed)) acts as an Employment Agency and is a subsidiary of Talentia Group
