Job Description
?? Software Engineer – PHP (Symfony) + SQL Server – Lincoln – Hybrid (1-2 days/month) – £45-55k
I'm working with a business that's doing something most companies talk about but rarely deliver – true hybrid working. You'll only need to be in their Lincoln office 1-2 days per month. The rest of the time? Your desk, your coffee, your playlist.
This role is a nice mix of development and database – perfect if you're the kind of engineer who likes variety, not just churning out code all day. You'll be reporting directly to the IT Manager, so no layers of pointless bureaucracy between you and decisions.
The tech:
-
PHP (Symfony) – Laravel experience? That's a bonus.
-
SQL Server – T-SQL, SSMS, maintenance plans.
-
Linux environment.
-
Git for version control.
Why you might like it:
-
Salary between £45k-£55k (depending on experience).
-
ERP system that's central to the business – your work will actually get noticed.
-
Small, collaborative tech team – you won't be "developer #37" lost in a sea of tickets.
-
Hybrid working that's actually hybrid.
If you're a Symfony + SQL Server engineer who enjoys solving problems at both the code and database level, this is worth a chat. Worst case, you get 10 minutes of your life back. Best case, you land a role with flexibility, variety, and a salary that's worth your time.
