Health and Safety Consultant (part-time)
Leeds
£250 per day (Outside IR35)
3-6 Month Duration
We\’re working with a specialist contractor delivering large-scale conveyor installation projects in the logistics and distribution sector. They are looking to appoint a Health and Safety Consultant on a 6-month+ contract (likely to extend) to support a key construction project based on-site near Leeds, overseeing health and safety for a site of 100+ operatives.
The responsibilities of the Health and Safety Consultant will include:
- Oversee compliance during the installation of conveyor systems
- Conducting weekly audits, inspections, and producing detailed reports
- Creating and reviewing risk assessments and method statements (e.g., for ladder work)
- Liaising directly with clients and advising the team on health and safety plans on-site
- Supporting a high-volume site during a complex mechanical installation project
The successful Health and Safety Consultant will have:
- Proven construction H&S experience, ideally with conveyor or automation projects
- CSCS card and SMSTS (essential)
- NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with contractors and site teams
- Experience auditing construction or environmental compliance
