Carlyle is a UK-wide independent Executive Search practice. We are experts in appointing high quality and diverse leaders at Executive, Board, Advisory and Senior Interim level. We are seeking an ambitious Research Assistant to join our established graduate programme.
Carlyle specialise in securing the best leadership talent across a wide range of sectors, including Technology, Financial Services, Digital, Professional Services, Fast Growth Start-Ups, and SMEs. As a trusted Search partner, we engage with Board level individuals on a daily basis, both as candidates and clients. Our recent work includes Board/Executive appointments for The Scottish Rugby Union, Tesco Bank, Homeless World Cup, Scottish Water and NFUS.

The Research Team is responsible for owning and delivering an exceptional quality of work, which is often presented to CEOs and Boards of high-profile organisations.

You will be ambitious, entrepreneurially-minded, methodical, and detail oriented.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with Partners, Principals, and research colleagues in the creation of Search strategy and tactics.
- Carry out robust phone and desk-based research, utilising tools such as our bespoke database, to identify and qualify candidates and market sources for retained Searches and research exercises.
- Conduct initial interviews with prospective candidates
- Assist in production of pitch documentation.
- Attend client briefing and produce detailed candidate role specifications.
- Write candidate profile notes after Carlyle interviews for presentation to clients.
- Produce high quality research reports that will be presented to Board level and C-suite stakeholders.
- Manage client and candidate liaison and logistics, including; sending out specifications and reports, scheduling interviews, gathering feedback from clients and candidates, and referencing.
- Drive ongoing best practice of the capture and use of our data, through database and CRM management.
- Proof-read and edit critical documentation produced by Principals, Partners, and fellow Researchers.
- Capture and share market and industry intelligence gathered via discussions with senior network contacts.
- Contribute to wider commercial initiatives through Carlyle’s various project ‘pod’ teams e.g. for charities, events or improved ways of working.
