Martin Brower's new Distribution Centre (DC) is creating over 200 jobs in Darlington and today we are looking for a Fleet Manager to support our team.
Description
As Fleet Manager you'll drive vehicle compliance and performance to the highest standards-ensuring top-tier safety and exceptional cost efficiency.
You will:
- Lead and coordinate all fleet operations at the DC, crafting and executing bold strategies that consistently exceed expectations.
- Ensure the Fleet is maintained to the highest standards, ensuring reliability and peak performance.
- Deliver on the distribution centre's daily fleet demands with precision and agility.
- Guarantee full compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements, expertly balancing business needs with budget and delivery goals.
- Reduce repair costs through proactive management and challenge existing processes to boost efficiency.
- Ensure O Licence compliance.
- Keep fleet costs tightly controlled and aligned with overall business objectives.
Profile
Will be able to remain calm under pressure, be results-driven, and highly organised, with a proven track record of meeting targets while championing health and safety. An innovative thinker and adept at driving improvements and thriving in unionised environments.
- Have a proven track record in fleet supervision or management
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Be results-obsessed, delivering on tough performance targets and budgets
- Show flexibility with working hours to meet business demands
- Bring hands-on experience in HVG mechanical maintenance
- Excel in contract negotiation
- HGV Class 1 licence (Essential)
- Up-to-date knowledge of current and upcoming industry legislation (Essential)
