Reporting to the MD, Payments, FX and Cards as our Head of FX and Travel Proposition, you will beprimarily responsible for the end-to-end customer FX business. You\’ll own propositional design, drive innovation across the FX business (for retail and business customers) and take ownership and responsibility for growth / P&L delivery, regulatory compliance, partner selections, customer T&Cs, operational liaison and exception management.
Key Accountabilities:
- Define Starlings customer FX strategy, ensuring the Bank meets and solves the growing needs of its SME and Retail customers, and does so in compliance with all relevant regulations
- Define currency and country / territory coverage across the FX proposition
- Work with Product to build out the Banks customer FX capabilities, covering currency accounts and send / request journeys, extending the feature set as necessary
- Own Starling Banks customer FX policy and regulatory controls, covering both Retail and SME customers. Set and control payment limits as necessary
- Track UK and international markets, including competitor propositions and pricing. Stay on the pulse of relevant international FX innovation, especially in emerging markets e.g., application of Stablecoins, new white-label multi-currency platforms etc.
- Set customer rates / fees, owning the overall FX P&L in collaboration with SME and Retail teams
- Collaborate with the Retail, SME and Marketing teams on go to market strategies and marketing / promotions
- Own delivery of customer satisfaction, fee income and volume related objectives
- Own Starlings back-office / partnership strategy, evaluating partners and routes to market, creating sustainable commercial agreements
- Manage Starlings FX partners to deliver on contractual SLAs and customer experience quality metrics
- Develop Starlings broader Travel proposition, covering adjacent, relevant products that satisfy our customers travel needs
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to champion segment needs and opportunities and to deliver customer-focused solutions
- Ensure effective communication and alignment across teams to drive seamless execution of projects and initiatives.
- Experience in collaborating effectively across a variety of business areas and ability to interact effectively with all levels
- Act as a collaborative leader who generates strong followership and works in partnership with the rest of the Banking leadership team to share ideas and be a driving force for change.
