There are so many exciting things happening in the city to benefit our residents, and make Leicester a better place to live, work and visit. From re-development plans aiming to build 6,000 new homes, to repairs and maintenance of our existing housing stock and council\’s buildings, to the stunning re-development of the Leicester train station, the Procurement Team are pivotal in procuring goods, works and services to enable these high-profile projects. No day is the same and there is plenty of variety in the work we do.
Our team of highly professional, and highly skilled officers develop and implement innovative procurement strategies for categories of goods, works and services to manage demand, deliver efficiency savings, service improvements and meet strategic objectives of the Council. As the manager, you\’ll lead cross-functional teams to deliver significant high value, complex procurement projects and focus on securing the best quality at competitive prices to ensure operational success while controlling costs, managing supplier relationships, and mitigating supply chain risks.
This is the perfect environment to use your significant experience and knowledge of public sector procurement, tendering and contract management processes. Using strong leadership skills, you\’ll be able to lead the team with confidence, and clarity ensuring staff are fully supported with training and development. This is a hybrid role working from home and our Leicester City Offices. You\’ll be expected to work a minimum of 2 days a week from our office which is based at City Hall. Appointment is subject to a Standard DBS check.
