We have a new and exciting role for a Technical Specialist UKAS Accredited Certification Management Systems to support the technical director in managing the complexities around managing the UKAS management system accreditations.
ABOUT YOU
We are currently seeking a Technical Specialist who has knowledge and experience and a broad understanding of the requirements of accreditation standards, ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 and ISO/IEC 17065:2012, as well as a background in certification standards that Intertek certifies; ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 and others.
Required skills and experience:
- Third level education in a technical field engineering, science, etc
- Demonstrable experience and understanding within the management system certification industry
- Experience of dealing with UKAS or other accreditation bodies would be an advantage
- Excellent communication skills and ability to speak to a wide group of people and explain complex ideas so that they are understood
- Organised and pragmatic with an ability to multitask
- Good IT literacy skills Office Suite of programs Excel, Word and PowerPoint, especially
- Previous experience being involved with accreditation bodies and understanding of wider requirements IAF MD Series, TPS UKAS docs, CIS docs, etc.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The role will require a solid understanding of the requirements of the IAF MD series, as well as having knowledge of the wider UKAS technical documents, i.e. TPS66, CIS Scheme documents. There will also be an expectation that the candidate will have a good understanding of the UKAS witness assessment requirements, be very organised and have a good technical background in the use of Excel and programs in the Windows Office suite.
Key activities:
- Knowledge of complex project management calculations (multisite, multi-standard)
- Liaison with the local sales team on technical matters about new and existing business, therefore preventing downstream issues
- Liaison with the local operational team on technical and delivery matters
- Point of first contact for several members of the audit team, regular liaison with the sub-contracted audit team about technical matters.
- Liaison between UKAS, local offices and auditors to facilitate successful arrangement of dates with multiple IPs, oversight of jobs offered to prevent downstream issues and to manage cost of programme.
