We are currently looking for a wonderful Support Worker to join our services in Ipswich, helping to make every day meaningful for the people we support. This is a role filled with fun, connection and purpose, where no two days are ever the same. The individuals in our services love getting out and about, whether that’s an evening trip to the pub with the gentlemen we support, a spontaneous day out on the train, singing on the karaoke machine or a trip to the coast. At home, you’ll find plenty of dancing, singing, music, arts and crafts, drawing and sensory activities, all of which you will play a part in bringing to life.
In this role, you will be supporting with personal care, manual handling and helping with every day household tasks such as cooking, cleaning and laundry, while encouraging each individual to live as independently as possible. You will be a steady, encouraging presence, helping each person to live life on their own terms. What matters most is that you bring patience and a genuine passion for supporting others, whilst demonstrating Mencap’s values in everything you do.

Shifts & Hours:
- We havefull time and part-time roles available, so we can be flexible with what hours you are looking for
- Shift patterns in the day/evening can vary from 7am – 10pm across 7 days a week
- Our services are 24 hour care so there are also waking night and sleep in shifts available too, these start from 10pm and run through to 7am the next morning
All roles are subject to a DBS check.
