Chemotherapy Nurse
Salary: 38,480 -42,640
Location: Guildford
As a Specialist Chemotherapy Nurse for our client, you\’ll get the rewards and recognition you deserve – everything from a company car (or car allowance) to 33 days\’ annual holiday. But let\’s talk about the role you\’ll be doing first.
What you\’ll do
We\’re looking for NMC-registered RGN Nurses to support patients receiving oncology therapies. You\’ll carry out a clinical assessment of their needs, train them (or their carer) to self-medicate and make sure their home is suitable for IV oncology treatment.
You\’ll be providing support over the phone, at a clinic and at the patient\’s home. When you\’re with the patient in person, you\’ll change dressings, administer IV oncology medications and complete blood transfusions (or arrange for them to be performed by a qualified nurse).
In essence, you\’ll be the bridge between the patient and their hospital, providing professional care. Whatever the task and wherever you are, you\’ll put the patient at the heart of your work.
Who you are
An NMC-registered RGN part 1 Nurse, you\’ll have a Chemotherapy delivery qualification and relevant experience. You can give oncology medication, undertake clinical assessments and take care of IV devices. You\’ll also have a good understanding of therapies, including knowledge of NHS patient management. If you\’re dedicated and empathetic, our client could have a role for your skills.
The rewards you\’ll receive
Your work is critical – and the rewards will reflect this. Join our client\’s team and this is what you can expect:
- Company car or car allowance
- London weighting (where applicable 20% of salary offered, capped at 7,738.85)
- Contributory pension scheme
- Private healthcare cover
- Death in service (x4 salary)
- Annual holiday – 33 days inclusive of bank holidays
- Professional registration fees paid
- Weekend and evening enhancements (30% Saturday, 60% Sunday and 30% after 8pm – only available to grade 6 or below)
- Ongoing training and development
- Company mobile phone and tablet device
- Comprehensive induction
