At EDF UK, we’re looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to take the helm of our I&C and Electrical commissioning team at Hinkley Point C. The Opportunity
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.
As the I&C and Electrical Group Lead, you’ll be at the heart of commissioning engineering for HPC’s nuclear island. You’ll guide a team of experts, oversee documentation and testing procedures, and ensure seamless integration with design and construction teams. Your leadership will be key in driving technical excellence and supporting the replication of this success at Sizewell C.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll lead the commissioning engineering efforts for I&C and electrical systems, developing test procedures and validating results to ensure operational readiness. Your work will directly support the safe and efficient delivery of the HPC Nuclear Island, with a focus on technical excellence and compliance.
Beyond documentation and testing, you’ll coordinate a skilled team, manage schedules and budgets, and drive continuous improvement through digital transformation and knowledge sharing. You’ll also play a key role in recruitment and mentoring, helping to build a resilient and capable engineering workforce.
Collaboration is central to this role. You’ll interface with design, construction, and commissioning teams across disciplines, ensuring alignment and smooth execution. Your expertise will also be called upon to support NNB during the test preparation phase, making you a vital link in the success of the project.
Who You Are
You’re an experienced engineer with a strong background in nuclear engineering and commissioning. You bring deep knowledge of EPR design, UK regulatory context, and I&C systems, along with familiarity with TXS and SPPA technologies.
You’ve led multidisciplinary teams on large-scale projects and have a knack for strategic thinking and clear communication. Whether reviewing technical documents or resolving complex issues, you approach challenges with confidence and clarity. Experience in team coordination or management is a plus, and your understanding of systems engineering principles will be key to your success.
You’re motivated, organised, and thrive in collaborative environments. You value diversity, equity, and inclusion, and you’re ready to contribute to a workplace where everyone’s voice matters.
