Are you passionate about leading the environmental performance of marine development projects? Join our dynamic Nature team as our Marine Ecologist Lead (Technical Director) in growing offices across the UK and Ireland, including Basingstoke, Manchester, Glasgow, Bristol, Leeds, Birmingham, Cambridge, and Dublin, with a flexible hybrid working model. You will have the opportunity to apply your skills, knowledge, and expertise on both national and international projects across sectors such as power, infrastructure, habitat restoration, flood defenses, and coastal developments.
In this role, you will:
- Be a Subject Matter Expert: Lead our marine ecology team, providing technical advice, directing project inputs, and delivering impact assessments including ES chapters, HRA, MCZ, and WFD, supporting licensing and permitting applications.
- Ensure Quality: Verify all marine ecology projects for quality and compliance, with excellent communication skills to tailor complex scientific information for diverse audiences.
- Collaborate: Work within a multidisciplinary team, including underwater acoustics, coastal processes, water scientists, and marine archaeologists, to improve environmental outcomes.
- Growth and Business Development: Lead efforts in securing projects through proposals, marketing, and client liaison, confidently presenting to various audiences.
- Project Management: Manage resources, budgets, and reporting, with training to become an accredited project manager, and oversee subcontractors as needed.
- Mentoring: Support the development and training of team members in a supportive environment.
