We are currently looking for a Primary School Catering assistant to join our enthusiastic and hardworking kitchen team based at Athersley North Primary School. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, between 11:00am – 14:00, working alongside other team members in a busy kitchen environment to provide nutritious meals to pupils.

About The Post:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Catering Assistant in one of the Boroughs schools.
Working within the Barnsley Schools Catering service, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the children receive a healthy, tasty meal.
About The Role
The work is varied and may include basic food preparation. Reporting to the Head of Kitchen you will support in the setting up of dining areas, serving of meals and all associated cleaning duties in a busy kitchen. Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential. All training will be provided.
About You
The successful candidate will be of a positive and can-do nature who thrives in a busy environment. Working as a team to ensure meals are ready for service is a fundamental part of the role therefore experience of working within a team and to deadlines would be advantageous. They should be able to deal with staff and pupils in a polite and friendly manner utilising appropriate communications skills.
