The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The role will involve identifying the technical risks & opportunities that are material to investors and presenting them in a way that our clients are able to understand the impact on the business plan. You will be required to interface with the client directly as well as provide technical/ commercial inputs to other advisors in the process. Projects may range from due diligence to market assessments, corporate strategy, business cases and feasibility studies and sustainable investment advisory. You will partner closely with clients, providing investor-focused advice on potential acquisitions of telecoms assets. Our team continues to grow, and we are keen to engage with individuals from a data centre engineering or similar technical backgrounds with a broad skillset and an ambition to accelerate their career in the Telecoms sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high quality strategy, technical and commercial advice to our clients across a wide range of
projects.
Project work will require a range of skills & duties including:

Undertaking financial and technical business plan analysis focussing on capex and opex.

Developing Excel-based commercial and financial models to support project analysis and advice.

Undertaking asset and operational reviews of organisations & advising clients on the technical, commercial and operational issues in relation to assets and infrastructure.

Reviewing the approach to capital delivery for new investments, including permits and programme review as well as the procurement and project management strategy deployed.

Working with Arup’s engineering teams to understand and articulate the technical risks and opportunities to non-technical clients.

Preparing and supporting delivery of reports and presentations to clients.
Our projects generally last between 4-6 weeks, meaning in a year you can work on up to 12 different projects across a variety of assets and geographies, giving you exposure to a number of different assets and clients. Our projects are fast-paced and provide you with opportunities to develop quickly whilst gaining a range of experience. You will rotate through the different areas of analysis to become proficient in each and to understand the impacts across all workstreams to enable you to provide robust advice to investors.

Is this role right for you?

You will ideally have previous experience in engineering, commercial, economic, or financial analysis.

You will ideally have experience within the wider telecoms sector; data centres, fibre and/or towers, and understanding of the telecoms ecosystem and the associated private sector business models, or knowledge of how the asset is developed, operated and managed.

You may have a degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, other engineering disciplines, economics, finance, business management, a closely related discipline, or equivalent professional experience in these fields;

Previous due diligence experience and experience of working with investors, lenders, and financial advisors is helpful, but not essential. A willingness to learn & adapt is most important here!
