Role Description
Newcastle College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Specialist Support Practitioner in Personal Care to join a passionate team supporting students with additional learning needs and disabilities, including young people and adults.
As a Specialist Support Practitioner, you will assist individuals requiring personal care, including moving & handling, toileting, feeding, and medication, while maintaining learners\’ dignity at all times. You will also provide practical and mobility support, such as sighted guiding, wheelchair access, and physical support to ensure full access to the curriculum. Additionally, you will support the delivery of training to learners and colleagues on access-related matters.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, adaptable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and committed to inclusive education. You should have Level 2 English & Maths or equivalent, and be able to work flexibly, including evenings and at off-site provisions.
