Responsibilities
You will assist with the administrative/clerical functions of the District Office and provide a comprehensive, flexible front-line advice and information service to customers. You will support the Tenancy Officer by assisting in delivering services to tenants, residents, customers, and their representatives; work in partnership with internal and external agencies on all functions delivered by the Neighbourhood Services Housing Team, especially those related to Tenancy Management, Estate Management, and Tenancy Sustainment issues. You will support the Tenancy Officer in identifying vulnerable tenants and coordinating ongoing support to help them sustain their tenancy.
The Individual
You should have a working knowledge of Housing Legislation, practices, and key issues in Scottish Housing. Experience in interviewing customers face-to-face in home/office environments, working in the public sector or related roles, and dealing with the public in confrontational and sensitive situations is required. You must be able to prioritize workload, manage time effectively, and work under pressure to meet deadlines and targets. Flexibility to attend evening meetings and work outside office hours is necessary. Strong negotiating, written, and oral communication skills are essential. The ability to work independently and as part of a team with a positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement is expected. This role is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the PVG Scheme, and the successful candidate will be required to join or update their PVG Scheme status prior to employment.
