About the Role As a HR People Advisor, you’ll provide first-line advisory support to employees and managers across the business, working closely with the People Business Partners to deliver a consistent, professional, and proactive HR service. This role plays a key part in delivering day-to-day operational excellence across the employee lifecycle, enabling the People Team to focus on strategic delivery. You’ll handle a wide variety of employee relations matters, coach line managers on best practices, and contribute to key people projects and process improvements. The role interacts regularly with employees, managers, and cross-functional stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Scope As a People Advisor, you’ll provide first-line advisory support to employees and managers across the business, working closely with the People Business Partners to deliver a consistent, professional, and proactive HR service. This role plays a key part in delivering day-to-day operational excellence across the employee lifecycle, enabling the People Team to focus on strategic delivery. You’ll handle a wide variety of employee relations matters, coach line managers on best practices, and contribute to key people projects and process improvements. The role interacts regularly with employees, managers, and cross-functional stakeholders. Delivery Provide responsive, accurate advice and guidance to managers and employees on a range of people matters, including policy queries, absence, performance, conduct, and wellbeing. Support and manage low-to-mid-level employee relations cases (e.g. informal and formal absence, probation, performance improvement, disciplinaries, grievances), escalating complex cases as appropriate. Draft investigation reports, outcome letters, and formal documentation in line with policy and employment law. Coach and upskill line managers to build confidence in managing their people effectively. Work closely with People Business Partners to support cyclical processes such as performance reviews, engagement activity, change programmes, and restructures. Maintain accurate records and documentation in the HRIS and case management tools, ensuring GDPR compliance. Identify opportunities to improve policies, processes, and employee experience based on feedback, data, and trends. Contribute to wider People initiatives and projects, such as onboarding, learning & development, or DEI activity as required. Role Expertise Solid HR knowledge with experience providing first-line advice and managing ER cases in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of UK employment law, HR best practice, and the ability to apply this pragmatically. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Confident in managing sensitive conversations with professionalism and empathy. Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy, discretion, and sound judgement. Experience using HRIS systems and strong attention to detail in maintaining data integrity.
