  • Position: Communications Partner (Contractor)
  • Location: Remote (EU; UK; Canada; US)
  • Type: Full-Time (40h/week)

The Role

We’re looking for a flexible, hands-on communications and content contractor who can work closely with our Product and DevRel teams to keep our messaging consistent, engaging, and relevant. You’ll own our content channels, coordinate across teams, and help us maintain a steady presence in the right spaces. You should have experience working with product marketing and be familiar with go-to-market (GTM) strategies, ideally in a startup environment, so you can connect our comms with product launches, developer engagement, and market awareness.

What You’ll Do

  • Social Media & Content: Manage and grow our channels with consistent, engaging posts. Coordinate content across DevRel, GTM, research, events, and other initiatives to ensure a unified voice.
  • Event Coordination: Identify and prepare for events that boost our visibility and reach diverse audiences.
  • Internal Enablement: Equip the team with clear guidance on what and how to share. Create and maintain reusable templates, toolkits, and best practices. Provide light-touch support for Discord, GitHub, and other community spaces.
  • Website Upkeep: Keep our website current with timely content updates. Coordinate with agency and contractors to ensure messaging reflects our latest projects, tools, and priorities.
  • PR & Liaison: Serve as the bridge between our team and PR partners, aligning our efforts with Mozilla’s group-wide communications.
  • Community Engagement: Partner with DevRel to deliver relevant communications on Discord and other platforms. Respond to and manage inbound interest from the community.
  • Strategy & Execution: Help shape the overall direction of our communications and carry it through to execution, ensuring momentum, consistency, and measurable impact.

You Might Be a Fit If You:

  • Understanding of, or strong interest in learning about, open source ecosystems and the unique nuances of communicating and monetizing in that space
  • Clear, engaging writing skills with the ability to distill complex technical or strategic concepts into accessible, compelling content
  • Comfortable working independently, taking ownership, and driving projects from idea to delivery with minimal oversight
  • Thrive in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment, working closely with Product, DevRel, and other stakeholders to keep comms aligned and impactful
  • Experience coordinating events, from identifying opportunities to managing logistics and promotion
  • Familiarity with community platforms such as Discord, GitHub, and social media management tools
  • Experience working with PR agencies or acting as a comms liaison
  • Understanding of developer communities or technical audiences.
  • Basic CMS/website management skills to update content and coordinate with developers or designers.
  • Are willing and able to undertake international travel on a regular basis
  • Bonus:
    • you’ve worked in an early- stage startup, AI/ML environment, or developer tools company

Send us your portfolio, links to past work, or anything that shows how you can help us share our story.
