Overview
Our client, a public sector organisation operating within the energy sector, is seeking an Assistant Manager for Systems and Data. This newly created role within the commercial team is integral to ensuring the efficient management of systems, tools, and data processes that support commercial delivery. The position also plays a key role in data analysis to enhance operational efficiency, manage risk, and support the organisation\’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
eSourcing System Management
- Provide user support for the e-sourcing system (Jaggaer), with a focus on the commercial team.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver training materials for system users.
- Collaborate on issue resolution and provide guidance on system functionalities.
System Administration
- Administer system configurations and implement minor changes.
- Oversee mass data uploads and data mart reporting.
- Set up and manage AWARD e-evaluation projects and their integration with Jaggaer for complex procurements.
Information and Data Management
- Lead reporting and data initiatives, including integration with Power BI.
- Build and manage bespoke reports using Jaggaer data mart functionality.
- Coordinate with departments such as Finance, Legal, and Project Controls to manage system interdependencies.
Project Support and Development
- Translate requirements into system design and implementation plans.
- Support documentation, training, and business readiness activities.
- Assist in the re-procurement of the commercial system.
- Conduct horizon scanning for future system and process enhancements.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Participate in internal and cross-government data and systems groups.
- Promote user engagement and the adoption of new systems and processes.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in system and data management, with a data-driven approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with an agile mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in e-procurement systems, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proactive attitude with a continuous improvement focus.
- Experience across the full commercial lifecycle, ideally within the public sector.
- Familiarity with Cyber Essentials and information security standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
