Our premium brand Automotive client is currently recruiting for the following role: SVO Vehicle Attributes Engineer – £34/hr (Inside IR35) Warwickshire (hybrid potential) 8 Months (potential for yearly renewal) Description: This role will aim to enhance the customer experience through the design, development, measurement and balance of customer attributes for automotive vehicles. You will co-ordinate the SVO and Core Attribute teams to set and ensure target compatibility with programme content across multiple SVO vehicle programmes. Taking responsibility for tracking completion of all Attribute activities from KO through to J1. You will support the creation of Attribute targets through PALS, Benchmarking and SOI then tracking delivery through Panel Chart management. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: – Support competitor and comparator Attribute benchmarking and futuring. Including, physical / virtual testing, measurement and visual assessments as required. Co-ordinate benchmark vehicle requests, hires or purchases with competitor vehicles. – Plan and co-ordinate benchmarking vehicle activities as required – Support VCD creation and co-ordination with the Product character and performance team – Co-ordinate attribute inputs to ESO/ system target documentation and F-SOIs. – Attribute Panel Chart setup and PAT input co-ordination. – Program attribute status report out against gateway cadence – Support the Programme attribute teams to ensure all technical issues are identified and resolved – Working with system and component areas to define and maintain cascaded target requirements in support of overall vehicle level targets (RMDV, Doors as reqd) – Drive and track attribute RMDV – DOORs classification, target setting co-ordination and validation. – Initial Attribute representative for PST\’s, & VIT. – Support discussions on attribute trades / issues and escalation throughout vehicle program cycle pre KO; FEC. – Support program sign off drives and co-ordinate with VET / VE counterparts to ensure attributes are robustly demonstrated and signed off. – Co-ordination of attribute lessons learnt from the current vehicle, ensure these are captured and fed back to the future programs and progressed as necessary Knowledge, Skills and Experience – Applicants should be educated to Degree level or be able to show a track record of relevant experience for the job. – Previous experience of problem-solving tools e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving, Design of Experiments and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) in Manufacturing – Experience in working with customer facing attribute delivery within the Automotive industry. – Experience of PCDS and all engineering planning and delivery processes is essential i.e. RMDV, Virtual Series. – Ability to negotiate with other functions to achieve objectives. – Good leadership and influencing skills – The ability to manage complex technical issues is essential to balance the often conflicting needs of the business, within project timing constraints. – High drive, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision. – Microsoft package elements Project, Power Point and Excel – Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering and cross functional experience – Knowledge of Quality Operating Standards in Manufacturing – Experience of vehicle engineering desirable – Intimate whole vehicle knowledge; with clear understanding of all COC\’s systems and how they integrate with each other Additional information: This role is on a contract basis and is Inside IR35.
